FIRM AWARDED MULTIPLE MARKET AERIAL PHOTO CONTRACT BY USGS

TEMPE, Arizona – Aerials Express LLC, a national aerial photography firm, was awarded a contract to provide the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) with digital imagery of key metropolitan areas.
Aerials Express, a leader in the production of digital ortho imagery and GIS mapping software, will provide the USGS with 2-foot, true color aerial photography. The imagery will be used and distributed by the USGS to local and federal governmental agencies for use in Homeland Security, first responder and GIS mapping applications.
“Aerials Express has been a great partner to work with,” states Mark Naftzger, Cartographer for the USGS. “They understand the urgency and importance of our mission to provide mapping resources for our nation’s security.”
Aerials Express imagery was used by the USGS in support of the recent Southern California wildfires. “Our National Map wildfire website received 17.2 million hits between October 26th and November 3rd,” states Naftzger.
